Texans look to rebound against Rams

The Houston Texans and quarterback Matt Schaub in particular are looking to bounce back from a drubbing at the hands of San Francisco to the tune of 34-3.  Head Coach Gary Kubiak  thought long and hard about making a change.

“Tough decision,” Kubiak said. “Real tough. I feel like it’s the best thing for our football team this weekend and so there was a lot of thought put into it, a lot of evaluations.”

Texans go through the motions in route to a 24-6 thumping

Texans Head Coach Gary Kubiak left the A T&T Stadium with a bigger decision then when he entered.  Kubiak figured to finally put the “who’s backing up Schaub” question to rest but the two battling quarterbacks, T.J. Yates and Case Keenum provided Kubiak with even more to think about.

“I have to do that in the morning, but dang good chance,” Kubiak said on whether to keep both quarterbacks. “The two guys played like that, I don’t think we expose them to anybody else.”

Saints backups help seal victory over Texans

The Houston Texans first team has been sharp coming into week three of the NFL Preseason. With 23 and 27 points scored over Minnesota and Miami, more of the same was expected against the New Orleans Saints and while they did manage to score 23 points, the Saints second team managed two scores to win the game 31-23.

Veteran receiver Andre Johnson looked great in his third preseason game and caught seven of eight passes thrown his way for 131 yards.

”When we sit down and game plan I try to figure out ways to get Andre the ball,” head coach Gary Kubiak said. ”It’s a compliment to the other guys that Andre’s able to get the ball so much.”

The Texans next face their in-state rivals the Dallas Cowboys this Thursday night.  Tickets are still available!
