Texans hyped on Osweiler

QB has only had seven career starts

Brock Osweiler left the Denver Broncos franchise in a tiff after being benched and replaced by Peyton Manning after the latter returned from a foot injury.  The move left a very sour taste in the young quarterbacks mouth and his mouth made sure everyone who could hear it heard.  Then a lowball offer by the Broncos and a great offer (4-year $72 million) by the Texans sealed the deal for the former Arizona State alum who was soon on his way to Texas.

“Brock looks good so far,” Texans linebacker Brian Cushing said after last Tuesday’s session as a smile crossed his face. “When you say his name I get excited. texans 3He’s made some incredible throws.  It seems like every practice he’s getting better, which is frustrating right now because it’s coming against us. But once the season comes along it’s going to be awesome to see what he brings to this team.”

The Texans will kick off the preseason on the road against the San Francisco 49ers before coming home to open at NRG Stadium against the New Orleans Saints.  Plenty of great seats for all preseason and regular season games are still available so be sure to grab yours today and help cheer on the next incarnation of your Houston Texans

Texans fall short againt Chiefs

The Houston Texans put up a great game against the only undefeated team left in the NFL but it wasn’t as easy for the Chiefs as the rest of the NFL  thought it would be.

The Chiefs were guided by RB Jammal Charles and his 86 yards and touchdown on 21 carries. Quarterback Alex Smith also ran for a touchdown as he went 23-34 for 240 yards.

Injuries also played havoc on the Texans as LB Brian Cushing broke his left fibula and tore his LCL and will be out for the rest of the season.

The Texans will next face the team that knocked off the only other undefeated NFL team, the Patriots.  The Indianapolis Colts will come calling on the Texans this Sunday and great seats and tickets are still available!

Texans take out Dolphins

The Houston Texans have come out this preseason and shown that they are already in regular season form.  Having an especially good day were the teams quarterbacks..all of them.  The combined efforts of Matt Schaub, T.J. Yates and Case Keenem produced a 26-38 for 326 yards effort.  Their combined QB rating was 110.2.  That’s impressive.

While Schaub has locked up the starting job, the backup position is still up in the air.

“TJ’s solid again, Case makes some really nice throws in there,”  Head Coach Gary Kubiak said. “The easy way for me to answer that is to say they’re both doing their jobs. They’re making it really hard on me, and that’s a good thing for our team.”

Star Linebacker Brian Cushing returned to the field for the first time since Game 5 last season. He played 10 snaps and picked up a tackle.

“I’m proud of him,” Kubiak said. “For him to go out there and get hit on and stuff like that was a big step.”

The Texans next face the New Orleans Saints on Sunday August 25th. Tickets are still available.
