Johnson reports to camp early

After fearing another frustrating rebuilding year, Wide Receiver Andre Johnson did not report to any of the camps held by the Texans leading up to the preseason.  Johnson has had a sudden change of heart and showed up at the Texans training facility ahead of schedule and got to learning the new playbook.

“I love playing the game of football,” Johnson said at NRG Stadium. “I don’t plan on walking away from this.”

Texans release Ed Reed

As if the answer to a 2-7 season (thus far), the Houston Texans have decided to cut ties with their free agent coup, Ed Reed.  Reed, who signed a 3-year $15 million contract, he underwent labium surgery that kep out of uniform and off the field until week 3 of the season.  In the six games that followed, Reed has only collected 16 tackles.

“Certain situations, we just got outplayed and outcoached,” Reed told ESPN’s Tania Ganguli after Houston’s latest loss, a 27-24 setback in Arizona. “If you’re watching the game, it’s not no-brainers … Eventually, they’re going to figure out what you’re doing if you’re doing the same old things.”

The Texans face the 3-6 Oakland Raiders at home this weekend.  Great seats and tickets are still available.
